They say I say

Its main goal is to show what pipefitters do on the job and i mainly talked about my field experience. 

oil and gas companies need pipefitters really bad now days because nobody is going into the trade unions anymore so the unions are forking out money the older veterans to keep them welding for them. Im talking like in the 70's old guys. learning this skill is really important because you have to have the right mind when working on the job. That's why the really need the younger guys out there because they also have good ideas to fitting the pipes. not to mention the amount of money they could get for the unions. Its crazy bro!

Teaches you the safety regulations when working with all kinds of meter fabrications and materials that flying everywhere and stuff like that. That's why we always have safety glasses and a hard helmet. the hoods that we use are awesome, they interact with the brightness of the welder. 

The schooling is the big kicker but the way the unions work is by the apprenticeship program. Its a five year program and your a helper for 2 years and then after 5 years you become a journeymen for your local training center.
